Yes, what you see in the picture is a Bajaj Pulsar. No, it is not the revamped Pulsar-180.
No, Bajaj hasn’t given a secret makeover for the much-anticipated 220 cc DTS-FI.
This, hold your breath, biker boyz, is a Pulsar-200!
Merely weeks after springing a revamped Pulsar 180 on us without any buzz or promotions, Bajaj has pulled another fast one yet again.
Despite being parked in the shadows of its bigger sibling, the P-200 is the first brute that catches your eye at the Auto Expo in Mumbai.
The squat, 18 bhp, oil-cooled beast ensures that you don’t even throw as much as a cursory glance towards the much-hyped DTS-FI.
The naked chain makes gives it the perfect, mean, made-for-the-streets look.
To be launched in Bajaj’s pro-biking showrooms in January 2007, (that’s what the Bajaj guy in the stall at the expo promised) the P-200 has most of the goodies from the bigger Pulsar. Tubeless tyres, the LCD speedo/analog tacho dash, split seats, two-piece grab rails, you name it and the P-200 has it.
Everything except the fuel injection, that is.
The bike, according to the Bajaj guys, is said to be “slightly costlier than the Pulsar 180.” Which means, come January you must be able to lay your hands on the beast at around a miserly Rs 70,000.
These pictures should keep you rubbing your palms and smacking your lips till then.
Just in case images of the P-220 are still in your memory, the DTS-FI will be out by April 2007, we are promised.

I bought P180 and another P200. I toktest ride for both of bikes. Believe me friends P200 is bikes of the year by looking and performance ,power as too well. I like very much bikes P200 because i am livening in savarsaat. And there are allowed in savaraat because of roads problems. We have last model is P200. That why i like very much P200. Every think is good and bike i can drive any way then also no problem. If it,s indication is very good and evrige is good.

one of my frnd bought P200 and another P220.I toktest ride for both the bikes Believe me guys P200 is gike of the year by looks,by performance and power as well. if we compare P200 an P220 what we get “FI engine, Rear disc and Doom what else” P220 fornt look is awesome but when it comes to side looks P200 wins.
another thing if u r gng 2 spend 85K on P220 it doesn’t give Black colord engine which is the weekest point of P220. P200 is far better then Karzima i admit that as well.I rode P200 on 138 KM i fell bike is saying “is that allu got” it is a real beast. I have Royal Enfield “Bullt” in Punjabi and now i am going to buy P200 as well BUT onlyone thing i am going going to miss in P200’s engine that is EMPFI engine.

After all the gung-ho about 200 and 220 Pulsar..It’s officially launched.
I went for a testride in one of the pro-biking showrooms in Bangalore.
Trust me,,200 and 220 , both are amazing. Both can kill Karizma with their looks itself, forget about the power. I wen tfor a drag race with Karizma on 200 CC Pulsar, tell you what the initial that you get on 200 is good enough to give jitters to Karizma FI.
Alas, let me tell you something, 220 is a beast and 200 is a beast in itself.
both rock in all areas.
With all due respects to 200 and 220, Karizma is a neat bike now wonder,
When I comparing from the power to Torque at higher RPMsl, Karizma fares well compare to 200CC. But take my words, 220 is in it’s own league in terms of torque. It can easily kill Karizma, but I feel really bad for Hero ZMA, because they could have easily done it a sporty bike, till date the old CBZ is the best bike in 150 category, no doubt and no two words. But when it comes to innovations, I have to admit that Bajaj has taken couple steps forward.
Trust me, one of my friends who had come down from Germany(German) thought Pulsar 200 can give a run for money to any sports bike in that category, and 250 CC is the peak that you can expect when it comes to normal biking in any City, including the US or the UK.
Anything beyond that is considered to be superbikes.
So, Pulsar is moving the right direction..250 is the benchmark, beyond that, it fall in a different class and I will be the last person to comment.
Good that these kind of innovations are happening, we will have good bikes and sporty bikes being manufactured by Bajaj/Hero Honda/Honda/Suzuki and of course YAMAHA…nice what ishappening…we shouldrespect them and encourage the best bikes around…
