Comments on: Normaliz.dll not found error fix

I follow the steps to recover from this error, how ever now I have another issue.
For instance when I open the IE about box, it displays a scrip error box, and have to click like 20 times on it to get it to close, and then the IE aout box is empty.

This is on WinXP with IE 7…

Any ideas how to resolved this one?

Correct, I also tried to download and repair the missing files, but always ended up with a new error message and a new one and a new one…

Finally I gave up (you already know my solution).

Meanwhile I discussed this with my brother, he solved a similar problem (finally he had replaced all the missing files) and got windows back… but he experienced mysterious problems for months and finally he first repartitioned and reinstalled XP.

However because I was so persistant with my solution he tried it (dual boot) and now he aswell kicked microsoft out of his home definately…

On April 23rd the next release will be available (for free of course)

I was able to successfully repair the normaliz.dll after I extracted it to my USB key, but I now have “Ordinal 173 not found in dynamic link library iertutil.dll”….anyone??? Have I mentioned I hate IE? The bad thing is, I have been using Firefox for at least a year now and don’t even use IE! That’s why I didn’t think it a big deal to delete any IE files! Foiled again!

As you can see I posted here before….

I solved the problem by downloading (requires access to another, working PC)and installing Ubuntu. It took me probably 45 minutes (including download time) and guess what ? Now I’m running Ubunto on three Laptops and I am totally happy with it.

Actually since I was able to recover all my files and data from the crashed XP-laptop this is probably one of the best things that ever happened to me… I only keep one Laptop with Windows for Lotus Notes (work).

I am even seriousely considering implementing Ubunto in my entire organisation, totally moving to OpenSource applications… So far I have not had any problems at all with filetypes or anything like that… all my office applications is already installed with Ubuntu except for a Lotus Notes client… as sson as I get the time I will definately look for a solution to that. Once that is solved without running the windows-client under Ubuntu then I will do it.

So, hope you find a solution, please consider my solution, it’s as easy (or even easier) to install and use as windows… If you hesitate you can even run it from the install-CD without installing anything on your harddrive. THAT will at least help you do a backup…

I too had deleted IE7 and wound up with a iertutil.dll error. From sufing the forums, I knew I would have to reinstall that plus the normaliz.dll. A customer of my empoloyer who works at the communtiy college in IT told me how to install. I did the iertutil, no prob, but because the normaliz is compressed, I can’t copy over to teh ssystem32. Any one know how to unzip using task manager???

alt+ctrl+del does not open my task manager. Now what do I do? Is there another way to open it.

Hey !
I deinstalled Internet Explorer 8 (release candidate 1) AND Internet explorer 7 (and some other crap from MS). Now my PC wont load windows complaining about normaliz.dll

When i boot in failsafe mode and (via taskmanager) opens a commandwindow I cannot access my USB-sticks (first I want to backup my files and second replace the dll:s).

But how can I do that when I cant access my USB-memorys, I cant access internet (only wireless) and I dont have a floppydrive ???

Right now I’m desperate, I dont care much for the PC but I really, really want all my documents back.

Maybe if I download Ubunto and boot from the CD ? Hmmm…

I’ve booted PC with BartPE, copied this file to system32 and after reboot
explorer.exe started without error messages.
