NEW DELHI: Bajaj Auto is targeting to cross the Rs. 10,000-crore turnover mark this fiscal with sales of 2.8 million vehicles, Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, said here on Tuesday.

Launching the company’s new 200 cc `Pulsar’ motorcycle, Mr. Bajaj told reporters that the company expected a topline growth of 25 per cent over the last fiscal, even as it focussed on higher engine capacity and sporty performance motorcycles for its future course with a slew of launches scheduled.

“By May, the Pulsar 220 cc with fuel injection will be launched and the following month the 200 cc cruiser bike Avenger should hit the market,” Mr. Bajaj said. The company had made a conscious decision to move away from the lower margin, low capacity bikes and would give emphasis on higher cubic capacity motorcycles.

“We are increasing production of Pulsar and by June it should touch 60,000 units,” he said, adding that the company would gradually phase out its entry-level bikes `Platina’ and `CT-100.’

He said the to-be-launched fuel injection technology DTS-i 220 cc bike could cost about Rs. 80,000-Rs 85,000, while the just launched 200 cc Pulsar DTS-i had been priced at Rs. 65,497

So thats a much awaited news! the official launch date of Pulsar 220cc DtsFi . Now we may hope that Bajaj wont shifts from the ‘officially’ announced launch date! And about the pricing of Pulsar 200cc , its Perfect! I bought my 180cc for the same price. :(

    Hey All,
    Good energy to put all the comments and suprising patience for those who have read all of them. For a new aspirant rider these comments not only make sense but also help make crucial decisions. Well then for all Rohits in this group please see if you find the following analysis helpful.
    –P200 is currently getting compared to Kzma bcoz thats what happens when the new bike launches with so many extra features it is bound to get compared to the already existing benchmark in the market.
    –First of all this segment itself is for people who are ready to shell out extra moolah to get a high performing high power bike.(impractical to compare to high power foreign bikes as their road as well as riding conditions are different)
    –All the style and looks enthusiasts take a good look at both the bikes physically (photographs are always taken in enhanced modelling conditions) if you want to get a feel of it (Test ride and try)if you still cannot make a decision as your girlfriend.
    –As far as the data goes considering experiences of above mentioned comments to be real comments, most of them have commented on Looks and style, engine performance, gear shifts,highway conditions,safety involved,pillion comfort,mileage,spare parts and service availability,quality of spares,practicality of added features,response to pothole filled indian road,braking and turning safety and last but not the least cost factor.
    –If you have a lot of money to spend (my Dad is my ATM types) go for a new P200 as you can show it off, use it and throw it.
    –If you are a feature freak and know how to ride a bike, changing gears shouldnt be a problem for you try the new one out.
    –If you have only a certain budget of above 80K and wish to play safe. Go with the tried and tested one which is in market for some time now and more than 80% people favor it, go for KZma.
    –If you love economy, sorry you are knocking the door of a wrong segment.(even if P200 shows good figures remember these are still prototypes or trial versions for taking the pulse of the market)
    –Bajaj is too smart and wants to test the market as much as they can as big business is their objective (More buyers not few but satisfied ones)
    –If you are talking about high speeds and doing stunts , its all in your attitude even a Rohit sharma on a Kinetic blaze can rip past you if you dont know how to ride.
    –for those who feel 22 kmpl is burning money buy a platina or star city.
    –HH businessmen are not fools to not do any changes bcoz its idiotic to react to a trial concept bike in the market. Major changes will be done (to Kzma) if the market is more responsive to features.
    SO all in all if you want to go for one, dont be a fool, decide what you want. Rider experience is important and not worrying about how long will my bike go without the clutch wire breaks.
    All risk takers please stand in the queue for P200 registrations (make sure you have a pro biking service station near you)
    All the people who like to go for the best or most famous dish in the restaurant, go for Kzma, if you dont like it and P200 or P220 swarms the market and happy faces(after 4 to 5 services) sell your Kzma for half prize and go for P220.

    pulsor 200cc have many problem which need to be sort out so as to bring up the sale also satisfy the customer
    also passion biker always want a fully loaded that a new 200cc pulsor have . so take the oil leakage problem
    seriously and make it ok.

    Atlast Its the ultimate fireblade from BAJAJ.
    What can I say, This 225DTS-Fi is incomparable, unbeatable, ingenious, powerful and awesome one, the dreambike of present youth.
    Its true HH introduced many successful bikes in every segment. But the fittest will survive and the present situation proves it.
    Whats negative in Pulsar225 you cannot find any deficiency.An extra power of 4 bhp added with lots and lots of feautures certainly useful puts ahead if of Karizma. Karizma is weaker than even Pulsar200.
    It equates with Pulsar 180.
    Tubeless tyres
    Rear discs
    Electronis speedo console
    First DTS-Fi engine in the World
    Oil cooling and lots of new feautures are introduced in this bike only.
    Even Electric starter was introduced in geared bikes by Pulsar only.Why HH Claims to be a trendsetter??? Open to question. and why not succeeding in the trend??!!!
    Finally The best is not judged by who was introduced first or who puts more adds in Media. Its done by who performs well, wins the hearts even without advertisements and creating expectations when a bike will be launched. Everyone knows who has done it even if the pretend to be the contrary

    yeahhhhh this really sucks, me sold my bike and have been waiting to buy the pulsar 220 fi and now need to wait some more months, this is really terrible. What the hell were baja doing for one whole year. Most annoying !! I hope the Yamaha folks launch thier 250 cc and give Bajaj a little shake to wake them up

    hi neo,this really sucks!!!! i have waiting for almost a year now for pulser dtsfi.and now bajaj says that they are going to launch it in may. ijust can understand what the nhe the hell they are trying to do? are they really interested in launching the bike or not? god only when will i get to ride a pulser dtsfi!! pls someone make bajaj co ready to launch the bike in the market…
