(taken from rearset.blogspot.com) .From his own experiance…

Yes, I rode it. The 220, that is. And I’m remiss on the riding impression. So here goes. First of all, the two big questions.
- Is it impressive?
Oh yes it is. Very much so. Without a doubt, it gets my vote for the best motorcycle in the country today. Overall. I still have a couple of bones to pick with it…. - Karizma beater?
What’s a Karizma? You mean that little yellow speck in my fold-away, fairing-mounted, shapely mirrors?
Now for the guts and glory bits, eh?
Mechanically speaking
This is easily the most well-engineered Bajaj bike yet. It has an almost disappointing Honda-like civility. It’s not as noisy as the older Pulsars. And you could keep a coin on the tank and rev it to the moon (or rev limiter, whichever is earlier) without aforementioned coin sliding off. Gears snick into place with minimal fuss, the clutch take up is very progressive. Despite trying, I could not trick the gearbox into missing a shift, had no trouble finding neutral and it all worked just the way it should.
Performance
Which is why the bike (as I said) didn’t leave me as excited as I could have been. It’s too civil. Not that I want a harsh, vibey old thing, but that its too smooth in its power delivery. You almost don’t notice the speed. Not until I found a helpfully aggressive chap (220? Bajaj? Pchah! Race lagaayega?) on the aforementioned yellow Karizma did it become emphatically obvious how fast the thing really is (all usual disclaimers against racing on streets apply. Only did it because of the lack of space – to ride – and time – owner was getting itchy).
On its own, the digital tacho shows perpetually climbing numbers, the sounds rise a bit, the scenery blurs by a bit quicker. That’s it. I wish the FI curves were a bit more aggro. I don’t know if that’s possible but I do wish the bike blew harder from the word go. As in its too much of a gentlemen. I wish it’d punched me in the nose a couple of times, that would have helped the love and the excitement, eh?
Handling
On any terrain, nothing in India’s gonna catch it. Its surefooted, confident and can be relied on to get a move on. A couple of times, I caught myself not backing off even in dirty corners, expecting the whole package to just samba on without a twitch. And both times, that’s exactly what happened. Absolutely amazing. Astoundingly good, even. The chassis re-tune works. Period.
The Karizma upgrade will need to answer some hard, hard questions in corners when it comes.
And it isn’t a sportsbike for only the greatest of roads either. The 220 has gained a nice balance on the ride front too. It feels sporty and absorbs almost everything without as much as a raised eyebrow. I rode it through a stretch where cars and trucks has pretty much blasted off chunks of tarmac from the top layer. At high speed and at low speed. And I have nothing to report. No worries, no problems, no shocks, nothing. This is a truly great package.
More love for the brakes as well. They’re great. They talk to you through the fingers, have great power, and should stoppie the 220 easy (I didn’t try – I’d mooched the bike from a fairly reluctant owner; which is also not to say that I can, in fact, stoppie it in the first place).
Comfort
It’s comfy all right, but there is a hitch. The fixed fairing comes back a bit too much and unless you’re sitting so that the tailbone is touching the seatstep, your knees will be rubbing on the fairing. That’s a bit uncomfortable.I guess when you are riding it in jeans, I’d grip the tank quite hard before hitting the brakes hard. In riding pants, the armour has that privilege of being very intimate with the fairing end. Shorties – I’m guessing 5′5″ and below won’t notice this.

Hi guyz
Atlast Its the ultimate fireblade from BAJAJ.
What can I say, This 225DTS-Fi is incomparable, unbeatable, ingenious, powerful and awesome one, the dreambike of present youth.
Its true HH introduced many successful bikes in every segment. But the fittest will survive and the present situation proves it.
Whats negative in Pulsar225 you cannot find any deficiency. An extra power of 4 bhp added with lots and lots of feautures certainly useful puts ahead if of Karizma. Karizma is weaker than even Pulsar200.
It equates with Pulsar 180.
Tubeless tyres
Rear discs
Electronis speedo console
First DTS-Fi engine in the World
Oil cooling and lots of new feautures are introduced in this bike only.
Even Electric starter was introduced in geared bikes by Pulsar only. Why HH Claims to be a trendsetter??? Open to question. and why not succeeding in the trend??!!!
Finally The best is not judged by who was introduced first or who puts more adds in Media. Its done by who performs well, wins the hearts even without advertisements and creating expectations when a bike will be launched. Everyone knows who has done it even if the pretend to be the contrary

Hi All,
When will Pulsar 220 be available in the market ?
April 4th, 2007 at 4:11 pm
The bike is taking forever to launch. I am told it already has had problems with front disc and cold start failure. Fi is all about cold starting. Guess Bajaj still wants to experiment with the market, as with the numerous problems with the 180 cc pulsar. I would wait and watch at least 6 months before buying one.
April 4th, 2007 at 4:16 pm
Bought mine in Pune. Its really not as great as the wait Bajaj is creating for it. Its all hype as was created for the eliminator. Poor marketing strategy by Bajaj & a not so fancy package in terms of starting or braking reliability. Not super fast either. Dont see any reason why they launched 150, 180, 200 & 220. The Indian riders are sure taken to be fools to not realise that the difference is not-distinguishable. Guess the 400s are still grey hairs awqay by these standards, cos next year they will launch 250 cc and the year after a 275 cc maybe……..

hi
my qs is why p200 launched unnesesarily.when compaired to p180 p200 having less picup
only.beter we can go for p180 insted of p200.if u need very high power u can go for p220
p200 is really vast.it just has p220 parts only

Bunch of Jokers boasting about a shit bike Karizma is electronically limited to 8000 rpm and actual top speed is 160kmph. That keeps kisds like you away from hospital. Well this review will only get you job at bajaj hahahahah jokers…….
December 4th, 2007 at 1:38 am
Hi DK,
CAn you give me some background on Karizma, when you are claiming 8000 RPM and actual top speed of 160 kmph. I am really interested to know how this works on a torque of Karizma,,My knowledge is limited, can you shed some lights and spare some precious time of yours to help us understand…
December 13th, 2007 at 12:23 pm
dude it rocks no words to express my joy
January 25th, 2008 at 8:03 am
after all these comments…do u allknow 1 thing……..KARIZMA still rocks n your 220 SFI sucks ………..its a flop
January 30th, 2008 at 6:23 pm
Buddy, there are still Karisma owners who think 220 is beatable, but…buddy, you guys are wrong, 1st and 2nd o.k but once in 3rd, your karisma disappears from the rear view. Karisma is a buddha(old) gadi in comparison to this 220 babe. Honestly, ive owned a K’ma before I bought this beauty.
February 5th, 2008 at 11:27 pm
I just know 1 thing karizma has been thoroughly smashed by p220 n if u don agree then just put these 2 bikes besides each other n see fr ur self
June 15th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
The bajajs and heros are the takin the poor indian rider for a bige ride
esp bajaj first 180cc then 200 cc then 220cc like little shit droppings
A real fast bike as per international standards would be a 250cc with 30 plus horses under its belly
U got the dirt bike 125cc and u got the 250cc above that are the serious sport bikes this 180 -200 cc thing is a shit dropplings thing ive termed it
Trust me thes people are takin all o us for a big ride
June 15th, 2008 at 5:00 pm
Finally it boils down to the the grit of an individual rider how psyched he is in da mind , if psyched and skilled enough can take out a superior bhp bike also
Its all on skill and guts babie
Keenly watchin out for yamahas R15 baby heard its a 6 speed and 17 horses looks resemble the big babe R1
anythin speedy eg rx series and now r15 rz 150 which Yamaha throws is worth givin a look at
The bike market is still sleepy ,agreed the R1s are available but dunno when we gonna wake up to a dawn of 250 ccs upwards to R6 in our market which the upper middle class can own.
June 15th, 2008 at 5:08 pm
Big hype bout P220 and kari few months down the line they’ll be just other bikes and in 09 they ,ight introduce a P250 also again by adding 2 or 3 bhp more just like they did in 180ccc and 200cc case like throwin charity to public
i ask what for them to addd more more horse power to thir bikes
look at this r15 thing its just 150cc and they sayin it will match up to the p 220 and karizma then wat all those extra cc’s for? They meant to have more bhp simple!!
In international racing havent we seen 125cc bikes touch 140 kmph
Then wat are these 220cc bikes doin with mere 17.7 and 20.2 bhp respectively
Isnt that rippin us public out
I feel the pulsar 220 and karizma shudve been atleast 25 bhp other wise whats the use of having so much cc
If they introduce a revamped 180cc or 200cc by adding 2 -3 bhp it will meet the same level as current 220
big rip off all fooling around
The big bikes have not yet arrived !!!!!!!!

Hey Guys,,
Pls don Compare Sandal with Cowdunk… We can put Scenes in city with karizma.. Any one tried to ride at Highways.. It would really rape your happiness.. just any one tell wat are the features available in that. And more you will get back pain.. But i bought my cute 220 on Jan 29th 2009 and had the same trip ..Sharp headlamps made the heavy drivers to Dim.. I was feeling like that am driving a car .. So pls never compare Karizama with 220 .. You can compare with atleast 150 ..

what ever bike u purchase..everything depends on how well its maintained…i purchased a pulsar 220..it was good..initially..but after each service its perfomace came down…mailage went down..pick went down…all this is due to bad quality service provided by bajajs service partners…they just dont care…you know what after my second free service..THEY RETURNED BIKE WITHOUT POURING ENGINE OIL… without this knowledge i drove the bike…for around 20 kms…later i noticed..dash board inticator…and bike perfomance…but to my surprise.this is not a uniqyue case….i came to know from others the same incident happened with themm..tooo…. also one poor guy with an avenbger..one day approched them compainting that engine burned off while riding..they charged them heavily like 9000+ for piston repairing…i think these guys are purposefully doing this for generating revenue…this incident happened with the people who purchased pulsar or avanger from sri vinayaka mobikes..located @ hyderabad > secundrabad > tharbund signal… dudes so if you happened to be a customer of these people..then watch out for trouble… others keep away from them…
